About ZEW
ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research is an economic research institute in the Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung, which translates to the "Center for European Economic Research". The ZEW is located in Mannheim, Germany. It was founded in 1990 on the basis of a public-private initiative in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg in co-operation with the government of Germany. The ZEW conducts research in the field of European economic integration and other economic policy issues.
ZEW Financial Market Survey
One indicator is created and published from the results of the ZEW Financial Market Survey. This survey is conducted monthly and asks financial market experts to assess the current economic situation and their expectations for the future. The results of the survey are used to create the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment, which is a leading indicator of economic activity in Germany.
