Dragons sign veteran forward to new deal
Sydney to retain key forward
The Dragons have re-signed veteran forward Tariq Sims to a new one-year deal, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2024 season.
The 33-year-old has been a mainstay in the Dragons' forward pack since joining the club in 2018, playing 105 games for the Red V.
Sims is a former NSW State of Origin representative and has played 229 NRL games for the Dragons, North Queensland and Newcastle.
Dragons general manager of football Ben Haran said Sims was a valuable member of the club's leadership group and a mentor to the younger players.
"Tariq is a great leader and a great role model for our younger players," Haran said.
"He's a tough, physical player who brings a lot of experience to our team.
"We're very pleased to have re-signed him for another year."
Sims said he was excited to remain with the Dragons for another season.
"I'm really happy to have re-signed with the Dragons," Sims said.
"I love playing for this club and I'm excited about what we can achieve in 2024.
"We've got a great group of players and I'm confident that we can make a real impact next season."
